Andhra Pradesh, Telangana Reel Under Floods, Rs 5438 Crore Worth Damage Caused

The number of deaths resulting from the rains has increased to 19 in Andhra Pradesh and to 16 in Telangana, causing extensive destruction and fatalities. Forty percent of Vijayawada was submerged in severe flooding caused by the abrupt overflow of the Budameru River. According to reports, Andhra Pradesh's extraordinary rainfall and floods over the past three days have affected almost 4.5 lakh people, forcing 31,238 of them to flee to 166 relief shelters.
