First Congregational is a progressive Christian community in Grand Junction Colorado, nestled in a valley between the red stones to the west and the green forested mesas to the east.

We are an Open and Affirming/Accessible to All congregation of the United Church of Christ: "Whoever you are ... wherever you are of life's journey ... you are welcome here." www.uccgj.org.

This Sunday, "guest" speaker Bp. Alan Morris remembers the story of Elijah feeling exiled from his community and hiding in a cave and his subsequent conversation with God where God asks Elijah, "What are you doing here?"
