Gallery All is pleased to introduce James Jean's latest version of 'The Woodcutter' — a character recurring in different forms for years in Jean's art journey. 'The Woodcutter' embodies motifs that evolved from Ninomiya Kinjiro, a figure of self-education and diligence in 18th-century Japan to Shintoism where engraved faces of omnipresent spirits in the firewood originate. Realized in full-color resin, Jean transforms the format and medium, bringing the character to life.
