The Spectacular Meteor Crater in Arizona (filmed by drone)

Aerial footage of the huge meteor crater in Arizona. This site has fascinated me since I was a boy.

Created by an estimated 150-foot iron meteor 50,000 years ago, the impact left a 3,900-foot wide crater near the town of Winslow. It is an awe-inspiring site that must be seen in person to fully appreciate its enormity. I can't even imagine the sudden cataclysm that rocked the peaceful plains all those years ago.

The meteor crater has an interesting story of discovery, denial, and finally acceptance. I recommend stopping by the Visitor's Center to get the full story, and to see the crater impact movie in their theater. I also recommend the guided tour around the rim and the museum with a large piece of the meteorite on display.
