Kraftwerk's "The Model" satirizes the commercialization of beauty, with lyrics like "She's posing for consumer products now and then." 

The music video juxtaposes Kraftwerk's performance with black-and-white clips of 1950s fashion shoots, highlighting the artificiality of both the band and the modeling world. 

Surprisingly, model Katie Price, aka Jordan, stated in a 2010 interview that she had "never heard of" Kraftwerk or "The Model." 

"The Model" became a surprise UK number-one hit in 1981, despite being originally released in 1978. 

Lyricist Emil Schult was dating a model when he wrote "The Model."
