Hobie Drop in with Honda 35cc - Go Pro Footage Extended (Pedal Drive Conversion)

Описание к видео Hobie Drop in with Honda 35cc - Go Pro Footage Extended (Pedal Drive Conversion)

Let me preface the video before the comments about the noise start making the know it alls come out of the woodwork. The camera is being handheld right next to the engine. There is no way without extended GoPro mounts to get around this. This is for the purpose of showing the drive capability. You are in the path of the echo and harmonics of the engine. No way around it. It is in reality about 30% quieter. This is an older Hobie used as a test boat, period. All of my Hobie PA and large kayak clients use these and thoroughly enjoy their usage for traveling long distances, not spot to spot usually. This is why we have paddles.

I finally got around to filming with my GoPro on my wife's Hobie Revo. The system did not disappoint. 6.6 mph with current and 6.1 mph with a heavy incoming current. Now just to be clear, if I really adjust my engine tilt position I could probably get gain a bit more speed, but for a Honda 35cc engine, I am not complaining. The Honda 50cc would push this well over 7mph. The average speed with simply the first throttle position was right at 4 mph. Feel free to skip around. I had to film very close to the engine since these Hobie Revo's are tight and the pedals are very close to the occupant and of course there are no T tracks to mount anything.
