Boiler Gold Rush 2023: Purdue’s new student welcome program

For 30 years #PurdueUniversity has welcomed new students to West Lafayette during Boiler Gold Rush — our distinctive orientation program. More than 8,000 students participated in Boiler Gold Rush 2023, which ran Aug. 15-19. Nearly 700 students from 72 countries participated in Boiler Gold Rush International (Aug. 12-14).

New #Boilermakers participated in small-group activities, led by 700 student volunteers, as well as large-scale events like opening and send-off ceremonies.

During Boiler Gold Rush, students also shared in beloved Purdue traditions like Crossing the Tracks and Fountain Fest. They moved into their residence halls, watched a 300-drone light show, learned about student life during the B-Involved Fair, explored open houses and so much more!
