Have you heard of image enhancement in thermal imaging cameras?

FLIR Thermal Imaging Cameras have a feature known as FSX. This enhancement is where the device outlines/defines the images in the background.

This is a tremendous benefit for firefighters as a standard infrared/TIC does not allow us to see through flames. NFPA 1801 requires that colorization be translucent. Certain TIC's such as the FLIR KXX series offers this feature which provides the following:

Areas behind flames such as doors, mattresses, etc that would have gone unnoticed.

Holes in floors are more visible than with past standard Infrared Devices

Life, Fire, Layout: Victims, Fire location, and layout or room configuration is extremely details in high heat.

All of this and more is available in TIC's that use a form of image enhancement.
