Four people attacked by sharks on the 4th of July in Texas and Florida

Four people were attacked by sharks over the Fourth of July holiday. Three of the four attacks took place on South Padre Island, Texas. Police responded after a 911 caller reported that one person had a severe shark bite to the leg. All three people were reportedly taken to the hospital.

In New Smyrna Beach, Florida, a 21-year-old man was bitten by a shark while playing football in only knee-deep water. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
