映画【インディ・ジョーンズ】の舞台となった世界遺産！ペトラ遺跡
そこは2000年前、ナバテア王国の都として、岩山が城壁の役割を果たすような場所に築かれました。断崖の裂け目・・・シークと呼ばれる細い1本道がペトラへ通じる唯一の道。シークを進むと現れるのが、岩を彫り抜き造られたエル・カズネと呼ばれる壮大な建造物です。
ペトラの入り口に凛とそびえる高さ40mのエル・カズネ、街を囲むようにあるローマ劇場や立ち並ぶ巨大なお墓などの建造物は岩山を上から彫り下げて作られました。その岩山に囲まれるように築かれたのが、およそ3万人が住むナバテア王国の都ペトラでした。
映画の世界に入り込んだような絶景をご堪能ください！

Petra
A World Heritage Site that has been a setting in movies: the ruins of Petra!
It was built 2,000 years ago as the capital of the Nabataean
Kingdom, in a place where the rocky mountains served as city walls. A crevice in the cliff…The only way leading into Petra
is a narrow path called the Siq, which leads to a magnificent structure called Al-Khazneh, hewn from the living rock.
The 40-meter-high Al-Khazneh rising majestically at the entrance to Petra, the Roman theater surrounding the city, the
row of huge tombs, and other structures were carved into the rock from above. Built so as to be surrounded by the rocky
mountain, Petra was the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom, which had a population of about 30,000 people.
