What if Sam Raimi and Fede Àlvarez's proposed crossover sequel to Army of Darkness and The Evil Dead (2013) and a continuation of Ash vs. Evil Dead, entitled "Evil Dead Unleashed" wouldn't be cancelled and it would be released on October 8, 2018?



At the SXSW premiere of the 2013 remake of Sam Raimi's classic horror film The Evil Dead, co-writer and director Fede Àlvarez confirmed that a sequel was in the works. In addition, Raimi announced that he was developing a sequel to Army of Darkness, the third installment of his original Evil Dead series. At a WonderCon panel in March 2013, Álvarez and producer Bruce Campbell stated that their ultimate plan was for Álvarez's Evil Dead 2 and Raimi's Army of Darkness 2 to be followed by a seventh installment in the franchise which would serve as a crossover, merging together the narratives of the original series' protagonist Ash Williams and the reboot series' protagonist Mia Allen, with Campbell and Jane Levy reprising their roles. Alas, it was not meant to be, as Álvarez moved on to create his own horror franchise with Don't Breathe and Raimi and Campbell continued the original series storyline with the short-lived Starz television series Ash vs. Evil Dead.
