Welcome back my weekend warriors, my garage gurus and DIY’ers. So, the time has finally come to replace my rotors and pads on my 2015 Kia K900 Luxury sedan. In this video, I’ll explain how to replace your front rotors and pads.

At some point and time, every vehicle will need their braking system serviced. The braking system is one of (if not) the most important systems on your vehicle. The typical life of a brake bad varies as everyone’s braking habits are so different but normally you can get between 40-60k miles on just one set of brake pads.

The average rotor will last even further as there is a minimum thickness allowed before it has to be replaced so depending on how heavy your foot is, you will probably sell the car before replacing the rotors (haha).

In this video, I’ll be replacing my rotors with upgraded StopTech Cryogenically treated, slotted rotors. The K900 isn’t no slouch when it comes to curb weight. The luxury sedan is around 5500lbs curb weight so having to slow this thing down is a must. These StopTech rotors have been exposed to the cryogenic process which hardness the material and makes them even stronger. So, I figured why not upgrade?

As far as the pads go, I went with a brand I have used a lot over the years and they are Import Direct OE Replacement pads w/ hardware. You can pick these up at your local Oreilly’s Auto Store.

This process is really simple but it is very important you don’t mess anything up or forget a bolt. If you do not feel confident if tackling this yourself, please, take it to a profession shop and/or dealership for service.

This is for educational purposes. I am not sponsored nor affiliated with any dealership or Kia. These views and procedures are the way I work on and repair my vehicle.
