The Audi technician in this video is informing a customer that their 53,000 miles 2018 Audi Q7 3.0 TFSI Supercharged V6 engine has failed and needs replacement. He informed them that it is not uncommon for these 3.0T CREC Supercharged V6 engines to fail.
These engines fail following a history of oil consumption. The cylinders lose compression and the car loses power and consumes excessive amounts of oil. There are reports of broken pistons, broken, burnt valves and cracked cylinder heads as people kept using the cars like that. This is the result of excessive crankcase pressure caused by lost compression in cylinders, coupled with lighter build materials (pistons, rings, valves, etc.) for easy engine power and a downgraded PCV system despite the excessive heat, pressure and blow-by.
I advise anyone in the used car market not to purchase vehicles with these engines. I purchased one and got burned: • Audi A7 3.0T - Whistling Noise, Blown...
