Dora
Dora is a true heroine–an Indiana Jones for the preschool set. She is a born explorer, always eager for the next adventure. Though she’s only seven, she serves as something of a big sister to her best friend, Boots, and to the viewer as well. With her pride in being bilingual, her respect for her elders, her growing understanding of her culture and heritage, and her love for storytelling and music, Dora embodies the Latina spirit.
Looks
Dora has dark peach skin causing it to appear almost orange. She has short brown hair as well as brown eyes. The character is often shown wearing a pink t-shirt, orange shorts, frilly yellow socks, and white Velcro shoes with a pink trim along with other outfits. She wears a yellow bracelet with a blue flower on it that she wears on her right wrist and it happened to be a birthday present when she was four. Additionally, though rarely seen, Dora wears little gold earrings on her ears.
10 things you should know before starting with Watercolors:
1. Buy paper intended for watercolors
2. Plan colors before starting to paint
3. Keep pencil sketches as light as possible
4. Protect the whites
5. When starting to apply paint, start as light and transparent as possible
6. Allow layers to dry
7. Don't use more than three colors in the same mixture (unless you know what you're doing)
8. Clean brushes between colors
9. Replace your water frequently
10. Invest in quality over quantity when it comes to paint colors
WATERCOLOR:
Watercolor paintings are considered a unique way to creatively represent dreams, illusions, emotions, and bright feelings using water-soluble pigments.
From dancing, vibrating, light-filled passages to richly colored transparent dark's, from cascading wet washes to staccato dry brush effects, watercolors can produce painting effects which no other medium can match.
Watercolor has the reputation of being the hardest to learn of all the mediums. It has more elements to learn and handle than acrylic paint. It is not very forgiving of mistakes, although you can learn to wot work with or remove or cover them up. Difficult is not impossible.
One of the reasons the watercolor trend is so popular is because it's incredibly versatile. You can use a subtle watercolor effect as an accent in a design, create a more elaborate pattern for a background that has a real “wow” factor, or incorporate it as a detailed focal point in your design.
No wonder the medium is so popular! However, painting with watercolors can be difficult. It is a hard medium to master, largely because it can be unforgiving and unpredictable. Mistakes are difficult to correct, and its fluid nature makes it hard to control.
MARKER:
Art markers are used by illustrators, designers and artists to achieve a different result in artwork than you would normally see from using colored pencils or paints. Art markers are commonly used in hand-lettering, calligraphy and technical illustrations because of the smooth, quick-drying colors it can produced.
Chisel tip markers have a slanted end that allows for both thicker and thinner lines. Chisel tips are common in calligraphy and other forms of lettering art. Chisel tips are also commonly found in highlighters so that you can create thick, sharp lines. Brush tip markers are markers that write like a paint brush.
Markers are a blast to make art with. They can be used to create a diverse range of styles and are great for both finished art and sketching. However, if you're newer to markers they can be intimidating because they are so permanent. Erasers don't work on them, so what you lay down on the paper is going to stay there
