மேகம்போன்ற இத்தனை திரளான சாட்சிகள் நம்மைச் சூழ்ந்துகொண்டிருக்க,

we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses

These words paint a picture of the righteous believers of the Old Testament—men of God like Abraham, Moses, and David—surrounding us like a great cloud, standing as witnesses for us.

They cast aside the pleasures and burdens of the world and selfish desires, and they finished their race with faith and integrity. Today, they stand as witnesses to us, encouraging us by saying, "You can do it too."

Dear ones, in the same way, we must lay aside every sin that so easily entangles us, every burden of sin, and every desire or anxiety that weighs us down, preventing us from running easily. The race God has marked out for us is not an easy one. It will bring challenges and trials.

Let our only goal be to run with our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. As we look to Him, we receive encouragement and new strength. The heavenly calling is not for Christians who are idle, but for those who run with sacrifice and perseverance, like Christ!

Therefore, let us cast off the burdens of the world and remain steadfast in the faith. Our sole focus must be to connect with Christ, the head. With that goal in mind, let us run with patience and finish the race!

இந்த வார்த்தைகள், நம்மைச் சுற்றி பழைய ஏற்பாட்டின் உத்தம விசுவாசிகள் – ஆபிரகாம், மோசே, தாவீது போன்ற தேவ மனிதர்கள் ஒரு பெரிய மேகக்கூட்டம்போல சூழ்ந்து நமக்காக சாட்சிகளைப் போல் நிற்பதாகச் சித்திரிக்கின்றன.

அவர்கள் உலகச் சுகங்களையும், பாரங்களையும், சுயநல ஆசைகளையும் தள்ளிவிட்டு, தங்கள் ஓட்டத்தை விசுவாசத்தோடும் நேர்மையோடும் ஓடி முடித்தார்கள். இன்று, அவர்கள் நமக்குச் சாட்சிகளாக நின்று, உன்னாலும் முடியும் என்று ஊக்கப்படுத்துகிறார்கள்.

அன்பானவர்களே, அதேபோல நம்மையும் சூழ்ந்திருக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு பாவ பாரத்தையும், நாம் இலகுவாய் ஓட முடியாதபடி நம்மை அழுத்தும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆசையையும், கவலையையும் நாம் விலக்கி வைக்கவேண்டும். தேவன் நமக்கு நியமித்திருக்கும் இந்த ஓட்டம் எளிதானதல்ல. இதில் சிரமங்களும், சோதனைகளும் வரும்.

விசுவாசத்தின் ஓட்டத்தைத் துவக்கி, அதை முடிவுக்குக்கொண்டு வருகிற இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவையே நோக்கிப் பார்ப்பது ஒன்றையே நமது இலக்காகக் கொண்டு ஓடுவோம். அவரை நோக்கிக் பார்க்கும்போது, நாம் உற்சாகத்தையும், புதிய பெலனையும் பெற்றுக்கொள்கிறோம். பரலோக அழைப்பு, சும்மா இருக்கும் கிறிஸ்தவர்களுக்கல்ல, மாறாகத் தியாகத்தோடும், பொறுமையோடும், கிறிஸ்துவைப்போல ஓடுகிறவர்களுக்கே!

ஆகையால், உலகத்தின் பாரங்களைத் தள்ளிவிட்டு, விசுவாசத்தில் நிலைத்திருப்போம். நம்முடைய ஒரே இலக்கு தலையாகிய கிறிஸ்துவோடு இணைவது மட்டுமே. அந்த இலக்கை மனதில் கொண்டு, பொறுமையுடன் ஓடி முடிப்போம்!
