We have a Lowrance HDS7 on the bench today. This one was completely dead. We were seeing 40mA draw on our power supply while the power button is being pressed - then nothing. We diagnosed the problem to a bad buck converter on the motherboard causing the 5v rail to be dead. Without the 5v rail, the CPU card won't start the boot up process and will not turn on the other power supplies on the board.

When you can't get parts what can you do? We made our OWN 5v rail power supply of course! This was yet another one destined for the trash bin that we were able to bring back to life.
