Harvester- Crops are either pulled out or cut to the ground.
Once the crops are harvested,
they need to be threshed.
THRESHING- The grains need to be separated from the stalk.
Threshing is carried out manually by beating the grains against some hard surface to separate the grains from the stalks.
Thus, the beating out of grains from the harvested crop plants is called threshing.

Machines called threshers are employed nowadays.
In some cases, farmers use a combination of harvester and thresher, which is called a combine.
This machinery can carry out the process of harvesting and threshing together.
WINNOWING- Wind blows away the chaff as it is lighter in weight.
Heavier grains collect at the bottom. The process of separating chaff and hay from the grains with the help of wind is called winnowing.
