HOW TO PARALLEL PARK (BASIC) [BURNABY BC]

In this video i cover the topic of Parallel Park. As with all parking its all relative to the size of the car you drive and the size of the car you park behind. Also the skills of the driver and the ability to maneuver or to get the car to go where you want it to go will play a big part in how successful you are going to be. I teach this method and there are many others!!!!! The reason why i teach this BASIC method is, it gives you space for corrections if you are too far or too close to the curb. Get really good at parking behind a single car then you can try practicing between 2 cars. Practice makes you good and confident.

Step 1. Pull up about a meter form the car and line up your mirror frame to the driver's side door handle. Turn your wheels (steering wheel) all the way to the right!!!!
(if you are parking between TWO cars that are close together then start mirror to mirror)

Step 2. Put the car in REVERSE. Check behind you (360 check)

Step 3. Reverse\Back in until you hit a rough angle of 45 degrees.

Step 4. Turn your wheel straight (usually 1 and a half revolutions of the steering wheel) and back in until your mirror frame lines up with the logo of the car or the center of the car you're parking behind.

Step 5. Turn your wheel all the way left and fall back in REVERSE GEAR until you're parallel with the curb\about a foot away. USE YOUR RIGHT SIDE MIRROR or BACK UP CAMERA

Step 6. Park and E Brake\Turn your wheel accordingly if you're on a hill.

Corrections..You can pull forward if you want or are asked to on the test.
If you hit the curb that means either your (STEP 3 or 4) 45 Deg angle was off or you drove to close to the curb.
If you hit the curb just turn the wheel all the way to the right and pull forward. This method only works if you have enough space in the front.
