Getting back to more sample based grooves has really changed the music I’ve been producing. I spend more time thinking about how I’d cut up a chord progression than how I could make a specific sound on me of my synths. When I noticed that, it was so strange because I’d spend hours tweaking the envelope of a stab, or adjusting the filter on pad. Now I’m back to searching out for sounds as opposed to making them.

For this #BitsAndBeats jam, I cut up a jazzy chord progression (found on splice—don’t take this video down), pitched it down a step and tweaked the filter. It makes for this washy Rhoades sound. The bass is a one-shot from my Moog Minitaur. Enjoy!
