Eight U.S. Senators crossed party lines on Sunday night in a deal to reopen the government.

That includes Nevada Democrats Catherine Cortez Masto and Jacky Rosen.

Senator Cortez Masto has repeatedly voted to keep the government open.

"It would have an impact on our tourism and travel economy," she said. "Too many of our federal workers would be furloughed, right? We have, what, almost 14,000 federal workers, and what 12,000 active military they're going to have to work. Some of them will have to work without pay, our traffic controllers, or TSA, I mean, some of our law enforcement. And then we saw this long snap line."

Some of their concerns come from their own party, since the new appropriations bill does not have guaranteed extensions to Affordable Care Act subsidies.

"I'm very happy that the government is going to be opening back up. But there is a part of me that was hoping that we could hold the line," said democratic Nevada State Assemblyman Reuben D'Silva, who represents District 28.

Cortez Masto says reopening the government is also essential when it comes to SNAP benefits.

Senator Rosen says her vote is also because of the community impact.
