In this video we'll go over the mechanism of the anti-Markovnikov addition to alkynes in the hydroboration-oxidation reaction. This reaction yields aldehydes for the terminal alkynes and ketones for the internal ones. We'll also look at the uses of the bulky boranes to force regioselectivity.
