Nong Khiaw is a must-visit destination in Laos most travelers miss out on. In this video, we show you why it’s one of our favorite places in Laos and why you have to come here.
We start the day with an early morning hike to Pha Daeng Peak where we see one of the most magical panoramic views of the morning clouds lifting and revealing incredible landscapes of lush green mountains and the Nam Ou River below. We also share our experience exploring Sleeping Lady Peak, another amazing viewpoint in Nong Khiaw, comparing the two hikes. After an adventurous morning, we head to Noi & Ni, our favorite local family-run restaurant for lunch. They have the best food in town. We’re still talking and dreaming about their green curry. The food here is reason enough to visit Nong Khiaw! We then end the day with an unforgettable kayaking adventure on the Nam Ou River at sunset. Gliding along the calm waters as the sun sets over the limestone cliffs is the perfect way to end the day in this beautiful riverside town.
