Easiest to get gold with the bonus cards but it is not necessary.
Here are a few tips to help out.
1. Lantern points are contributed by the multiplier and distance from the target, further away the more points.
2. Pickups like feathers, wood, mushrooms, etc will add to the multiplier and points as well.
3. Max chain multiplier is 99, waiting to pick up big ticket items like the collectibles until you reach 99 will maximize your points.
4. Play on Survivor to earn 3x points for kills to maximize your score.
