The Supreme Court of India extended the date for the audit of the total wealth of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple last week. The temple came in news in 2011 when treasure worth Rs. 1 lakh crore was discovered from the temple. Out of the six old vaults and 2 new found vaults, many still lie shut. The Travancore royal family takes care of the maintenance, etc. of the temple till date. Martand Varma, the king who renovated Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple was from the same family. Intrigued already?
