Calcutta HC Order Sparks War, Post 2010 OBC Certificates Cancelled, Is TMC Govt. In Trouble?

The Calcutta High Court on Wednesday cancelled all the OBC certificates issued in West Bengal since 2011 under the current Trinamool Congress (TMC) administration for reservation of vacancies in services and posts in the state, finding these illegal. With this order, nearly 5 lakh OBC certificates issued since 2011, which are used for reservation of vacancies in services and posts in the state, have been declared illegal. We are joined by esteemed panellists to discuss on this issue. Prof Manojit Mandal, Political Analyst says, “I believe that this order will be stayed, once the matter is in the Supreme Court... did the judges of Calcutta HC form any committee before nullifying such an order? Or did they take the opinion of the OBC Commission?”
