Meet Urban Cowboy Cast members, Gator Conley, Jesse Mapes, Norman Tucker. Leon Beck and Dew Westbrook will be there as well. Also meet Kenny Fulton from the Bayou City Beats band that performed at Gilley's back in the 70's. There will also be live music performance from Jason James and Jordan Applebe, the Big Jordan Band as well. There will be a Dolly Parton Look Alike Contest, a Dance Contest and a huge 50th Anniversary celebration and Urban Cowboy Reunion like never before. There will be food served the same as it was on the Gilley’s food menu which will be included in your $150 ticket and of course there will be alcoholic beverages for additional purchase as well. The Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce will revive the legendary fun of the iconic, 1980-hit movie “Urban Cowboy” and celebrate the 50th anniversary of Gilley’s on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Galveston Island San Luis Convention Center. The 177th Annual Meeting for the Chamber will take place prior to when the doors open for this one-time celebration of Gilley’s 50th and Urban Cowboy 42’nd Reunion presented by UVC Powersports Tractors and Outdoors. Gilley’s opened its doors March 23, 1971. Urban Cowboy, the movie debuted June 6, 1980 and was the Texas Phenomenon that Inspired a Lifestyle.
