Описание к видео Kenyan Police On Foreign Mission As Nairobi Burns, Haiti PM Vows To Beat Gangs With Overseas Troops

On June 25, the first contingent of 400 Kenyan police arrived in the Haitian capital to launch a peacekeeping mission in the Caribbean country. Waving Kenyan flags and sporting camouflage uniforms and rifles, several hundred Kenyan police officers arrived in the capital of Port-au-Prince. They have been tasked with leading a mission to support the beleaguered national police and tackle growing gangland violence. The Kenyan police are the first contingent of an international force in Haiti that is anticipated to reach about 2,500 police from 15 other countries. The goal of the force is to wrest the country back from the heavily armed gangs that control more than 80% of the capital. Watch the video to find out more.
