At the outset of World War II, US Army Lieutenant Donald D. Blackburn is stationed in the Philippines. When American troops led by Gen. MacArthur are overrun at Bataan, he refuses to surrender. Instead, Blackburn escapes to the hills, where he organizes local rebels and headhunter tribes into a tactile fighting force. Watch for Susan Cabot -- best remembered for her title role in the Wasp Woman.

TRIVIA: based on the true exploits of Donald D. Blackburn, a lieutenant serving in the Philippines at the beginning of the war II, recounted in a book written by Philip Harkins.
