Today, we gather at Sharon Baptist Church of Philadelphia to honor and celebrate the beautiful life, legacy, and love of Glenda Lattie—a devoted wife, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, godmother, and friend. Glenda’s radiant spirit, kindness, and compassion touched every life she encountered.
Born in Oxford, Mississippi to the late Ervin and Annie Thompson, Glenda lived a life filled with purpose, joy, and unwavering love. A proud graduate of Overbrook High School, she later pursued higher education with passion—earning her Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Arts, and MBA, along with various certifications and honors. Her love for learning inspired her family and everyone around her.
Glenda dedicated 38 years of service to the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) before retiring and stepping into a joyful role at Stage Lights Dance Studio, where her energy and warmth made her beloved by dancers and staff alike.
In 1988, she married the love of her life, Stanford “Stan” Lattie, who affectionately called her “Babydoll.” Their bond was one of true partnership, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion.
Known for her impeccable fashion sense, infectious smile, and unmatched spirit, Glenda loved family gatherings, concerts, sports—especially her Philadelphia Eagles—and sharing joy with others through social media and thoughtful gifts.
Her life was a testament to Christlike love—selfless, compassionate, and full of grace. Today, we celebrate her memory, cherish her legacy, and thank God for the gift she was to all of us.
