2008 Smart Fortwo 451 - Removing Seats & Interior Deep Clean

In this video I remove the two seats from the interior on my 2008 Smart Fortwo 451 Passion 84BHP. The process is very similar on the Smart Fortwo/City Coupe 450. Removing the seats on these cars allows for much more thorough cleaning in the areas that are impossible to access when the seats are in place.

I vacuum/Hoover the carpets and clean beneath them where dirt gathers. I go on to explain how the seat belts on these cars are prone to twisting and demonstrate how they should sit.

I did have to disconnect the connector for the driver's seat belt warning system in the seat belt buckle, however my car does not have side airbags fitted and I did not need to disconnect the battery.

Car seats do contain sharp metal edges, parts that can sprung loaded and often contain airbags, which can pose a safety hazard - I mention this at the start of the video.
