Tetso College held its 6th Graduation Ceremony 2024 on July 30, 2024 at Lorin Hall with L. Mongkum Jamir, President, Business Association of Nagas (BAN) as the commencement speaker for the morning session.

L. Mongkum Jamir in his speech shared his journey as one of the pioneering entrepreneurs in the telecom sector of Nagaland, highlighting the importance of perseverance, leadership, and stewardship. Quoting that “science creates technology, technology creates commerce, commerce creates economy and economy creates politics,” he stated that everything is interlinked with each other and emphasized on the need of creating wealth. Accentuating the common misconception of the Nagas wherein money is considered a sin and creation of wealth a taboo, the speaker cautioned that without vigilance, there are those who might attempt to overpower or undermine us.
Mongkum Jamir, who is also the Managing Director of SymBios Creations Pvt. Ltd., deliberated on the necessity of entrepreneurship, encouraging the students to create jobs rather than seeking them. Stating that the ethos of creating wealth and fostering entrepreneurship should be the central economic strategy for dispelling misconceptions and embracing wealth creation, he also mentioned the philosophy of the MD of Wipro, Azim, “We cannot distribute poverty, we need to create wealth to uplift the economy.”

In the welcome address, Kvulo Lorin, Director, Tetso College, expressed his gratitude to the students and the faculty for persevering throughout their academics. He advised the students to use time wisely, find a mentor/role model and be positive and hopeful in a pessimistic society. He also urged the students to never stop learning, stating that it is not words but actions which would define a students identity.

The morning programme was chaired by Dr. Nouzhienino Peseyie, HoD, Psychology and invocation led by Talinungsang, Asst. Dean, School of Computer Science.

The class valedictorian was Kajal Kumary, BBA Topper 2024, NU. Altogether, a total of 531 students graduated this year.
