"When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord[a] in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." (ACTS 2:1-4)

The hymns in the Orthodox Christian Church are written to express theologically in depth to understand and connect with God in prayer. Through the hymns one can see the richness of poetic and melodic composition written by pronounced hymnographers within the 6th century which one of them is Kosmas the Melodist. He has offered an enormous collection of hymns through the church liturgical calendar basically more identified with canons. The poetic art of work written by Kosmas the Melodist is theologically in depth based on the Holy Scriptures and the Fathers of the Church.
