Beach Fishing is complicated in many ways. This is my best attempt to explain the most important elements of beach fishing that every beginner should know! Choosing your fishing bait, fishing rigs, reading the tides and finding holes that are filled with fish are all extremely important factors! Where to cast and what sinker to use is also huge factors in finding fish.

Fishing bait varies depending where you are fishing. Figure out what kind of baits are already at your spot and often times you can catch them yourself for free! These baits are usually the best because fish are already searching for the native foods in the area.

Remember fish move with the tides. As the tide comes in, the flats get filled with water and fish swim in to feed on bait near structure. Study the structure at low tide and fish it as the tide comes in.

Knowing where to cast has to do with being able to read the waves. Watch where the wave starts to crest, before the crest and after the crest will be deep holes. Start casting around these areas.
