Islam spreads in Mexico

Now Islam continues to grow and develop in Mexico as Mexicans increasingly find it easier to find information about Islam through social media.
Islam in Mexico is a minority and small religion. According to the Pew Research Center in 2010, there were 111,000 Muslims in the country and this will increase to 126,000 Muslims by 2030.
The history of Islam in Mexico does not escape the rebellion carried out by the Zapatista National Liberation Army in 1994. After that, several Muslim clerics came from Spain and advised Subcomandante Marcos to convert. However, he vehemently refused. In the end, these clerics spread Islam to the local population. As a result, several native Mexicans converted to Islam.
