DIY: Hydroponic Lettuce - How To Mix Nutrient Solution, Measure EC & pH Levels, and Make Adjustments

Growing indoor plants using Kratky hydroponics method. Preparation of hydroponics lettuce nutrient refill. To be used for growers and seedlings (diluted on use with 50% water with matching pH).

Nutrients include: lettuce formula (8-15-36), calcium nitrate, and magnesium sulfate (using household unscented Epsom salt).

Materials:
pH Control Kit.
EC and pH meter.
Gram scale, 0.01g accuracy.
Container cups from takeout food sauces.
Stirring stick made from plastic clothes hanger.
10 liter bucket.
Tap water.

Initial solution composition follows lettuce formula parts recommendation, but later diluted to reach desired EC level. I realized, in all my research, that hobbyists and producers, use all sorts of NPK combination. There's no standard. I'm using 8-15-36 to test, some even use 20-20-20. Yield factors include light, oxygen, and daytime/nighttime temperatures on top of the lettuce type and nutrients used. It all depends on how complicated or how simple you want your hydroponics to be.

I want my hydroponics to provide regular side salad at home without getting stressed from cultivation, maintenance and monitoring.

I prefer simplicity and enjoyment.
