Today I will show you some ideas on what you can create using your old clothes. Sewing project 1: Mermaid skirt alteration. I simply trim off the upper portion of the skirt. Leaving about 2 inches for the elastic band.I then feed the elastic thru the drive, stitch the ends and closed the drive. I now have a new skirt that I can use and fit my latest style.
Sewing project 2: How to turn a maxi skirt to a pair of culottes. First, matched the centerfold of the skirt, using a pair of pajama pants as template, I traced the crotch seam and back seam, then the inseam. I then stitch those back seams like I showed in the sewing tutorial for beginners. I finished the hemlines and it's completed.
Sewing project 3: T-shirt dress upcycle. I reshaped the neckline to an off the shoulder style because it is on trend. I took it in from the sides to make it more fitted and snatched. Using some left over fabric from the sewing project 1, I create a neckband to professionally finish the neckline. I added rouching on one of the side seam to add extra meta to the garment. Lastly,
Sewing Project 4: Upcycle t-shirt dress with tiered skirt. I simply used a small t-shirt to trace out a bodice pattern. Using the left over fabrics I cut out strips of fabrics to create the ruffles then stitch them together.
