A steam train drives up the track, we see the sign at Portmadoc station. Various shots of the driver and guard, he waves a flag and the train draws out of the station. There are several shots as it drives down the track. A woman closes the gate on the level crossing and the train drives through. Various shots inside the train as the guard sells tickets. It passes a museum and a woman in traditional Welsh costume stood outside. The barman pulls a pint on the train and takes out a tray of drinks to the customers, a man drinks a pint.
