🤘🏻Pitfest 2024🤘🏻
I have to get this off my chest as the "Post-festival blues" are kicking in HARD! This festival was Amazing and by far the best organised I've ever seen. I've personally attended nearly 60 festivals and it's been forever since I felt so sad to leave one! Everything was absolutely excellent, from the Staff, Punters, Camp site, Food & Drink, Vendors, Security, Volunteers and Facilities - I've never seen a group of people get everything spot on and listen to their fans. Truly blown away and I can see why people buy their tickets blindly the year before!
Me & Bartek started our journey to the Netherlands, straight from a very messy ACDC gig in London. Which wasn't the best start 😂 Aston picked us up and we had 5 hours to get back to Dover & get the ferry to Pitfest Festival! Huge thanks to John Vugteveen for hooking us up with tickets and making sure we felt welcomed the entire weekend, and a big shoutout to Maik Reuvers , the Broski behind this incredible event. We managed to speak to literally everyone at some point I'm sure!
Our squad for this one was Ruby, Aston rocking his replacement iconic blue squid hat, Jade , and Bartek, who kept us on our toes by constantly going missing and getting lost at one point walking to Germany for cigarettes! 🤣
The band lineup was pretty cool and advertised a lot of Dutch bands that I hadn't heard of before, I was given tons of recommendations from fans and staff which created some of the best memories I've had at a festival. Going in blind to see people losing their shit to bands that are 30 years in has given me some musical homework! 🤣
But alongside that surprising aspect, there was still incredible performances from Hatebreed, Napalm Death and my personal highlights were also Neuk! - absolutely mental crowd!, Sabbat, Skroetbalg (Which I still cant say), and Salatious Gods - which definitely woke us up from the morning hangover! But the late replacement for Sick of it All - Napalm Death (a swap which actually suited me) set featured the most continuously active pit I've ever seen—absolutely intense! And featured staff at points & I loved every second!
The festival's staff were excellent and very friendly, making the experience even better.
The facilities were top-notch, the best toilets I've encountered at any festival. Plus, the attendees were incredibly polite, helpful and friendly, always up for a chat. After a few beers we were all mates and there was absolutely no language barrier - despite my inability to speak any other language! I need to thank the camping lot for welcoming us, from showing us their campervans to offering us cooked breakfasts - it's truly next Level!
We even squeezed in watching 3 football games on the big screen! Featuring games from Dull England, and Holland - The moment Memphis got subbed got the biggest cheer which killed me and Aston!
And, of course, we tried all the food, drinks and cocktails, which actually leaves me missing having a blue tongue 😂 - if you know, you know!
From our group road trip shenanigans to the old school mosh pits & stage dives, we captured it all!!
Our videos will give both an inside look & keep the POV of a punter for this festival's best moments. Showing a real experience of the adventure we had, highlight a few of the unsung heroes at Pitfest and show you how a festival should be run when people actually care!
I will be creating them straight after I'm done with the Graspop stuff!
Thanks for sticking around!
We will definitely be back!
