Kemer, Akdeniz kıyısında, Antalya'ya 32 kilometre uzaklıkta olan bir ilçesidir. 1980'li yılların başına kadar küçük bir köy iken son 20 sene içinde açılan tesislerle Türk turizminin en önemli merkezlerinden biri haline gelmiştir.

Kemer'in başta gelen çekiciliklerinden birisi doğal güzelliğidir. Deniz, orman ve dağlar bir noktada birleşmektedir. Denizin berraklığı, ormanın yeşilliği, deniz dalgalarının çam ağaçlarına kadar uzanması ve çam ağaçlarının plajlarda gölgelik olarak kullanılması oldukça cazip gelmektedir. Beldibi mevkiinden başlayarak Tekirova’ya kadar olan tüm kıyı tamamen doğal plajdır. Girintili çıkıntılı kıyılarında birçok koy ve küçük doğal limanlar bulunur. Kemer merkezinde bulunan plajlar Belediye plajı, yat limanı yanında bulunan Ayışığı Plajı'dır. Antik kentin hala ayakta durduğu ve millî park olan Phaselis plajı gibi yerlerde rahatlıkla denize girmek mümkündür. Konaklama tesislerinin havuz ve plajlarından da ücret karşılığı yararlanmak mümkündür. Kemer’den yakınında bulunan Olympos ve Phaselis antik kentlerine ulaşmak mümkündür. Son yıllarda Gedelme Yaylası, Söğüt Cuması, Altınyaka (Gödene), Üçoluk, Dereköy gibi yüksek yerlere safari turları da oldukça ilgi çekmektedir.

Likya'nın bir şehri olan Idryos, Kemer'in antik ismidir. Tam olarak Phaselis'in kuzeyinde Kemer yerleşim yerinin güneybatı bölümünde yer almaktadır. Buralarda yer alan dönemsel antik eserlerden bazıları şöyledir:

It is possible to swim easily in places such as Phaselis beach, which is a national park and where the ancient city is still standing. It is also possible to benefit from the pools and beaches of the accommodation facilities for a fee. It is possible to reach the nearby ancient cities of Olympos and Phaselis from Kemer. In recent years, safari tours to high places such as Gedelme Plateau, Söğüt Cuması, Altınyaka (Gödene), Üçoluk, Dereköy have also attracted a lot of attention.
