"A gentleman goes to the country for a rest cure for his nerves. On a visit to an acquaintance of his sister's, he learns from the hostess' young niece that there has been a terrible family tragedy. What follows is neither restful nor helpful to his already frayed nerves."

This is the adaptation of Saki’s Short Story “The Open Window” in a Rural Southern World in 1880’’s with Western Tone mostly inspired by Coen Brother’s “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs”. SCAD Graduation project done by a compact cast and crew with a total 3000 USD budget. Rather than having the film set in a country Estate and reference to English moorland, the film is set in 1880’s rustic and historic cabin set in south Georgia and references swamps and “gators”. Accents are no longer British English; Accents are southern US Georgian, southern Floridian, and North Carolinian. Additionally, the film was a true educational adventure for the film students and the entire production team. Most of the students are international and they learned and experienced some of the true “USA South” through the film’s planning and production. The film cast also represents a great range of age diversity - from a 13-year-old from Florida (had turned 13 just one week before filming; this was her first true film experience, previous work had been theatre), to a mid-20s experienced actor from Atlanta, to a primary theatre actor in her 40s from North Carolina, and incredible gentlemen who had recently worked in historic military reenactment films.
