Fund the Grassroots: Trust-based Practices that Affirm Community-Based Organizations

Описание к видео Fund the Grassroots: Trust-based Practices that Affirm Community-Based Organizations

Community-based organizations (CBOs) are defined as service organizations that work at the local level to provide services to communities and specific target audiences which improve a community’s health and well-being. Most CBOs are small, grassroots organizations and have limited resources which makes funding and collaboration vital to support these organizations and their mission within their communities.

Join us for an enriching conversation between three trailblazing leaders in collective giving, working in the American South and Southeast, where new approaches to giving and collaboration among Black, Brown and women-led organizations are disrupting mainstream philanthropy and resulting tangible change. Participants will leave with practical examples of participatory and affirming approaches to identifying and supporting community based organizations that often multi-solve across many issues to address immediate community needs and build power for transformative systems change.

Speakers:
Ciara Coleman of Geaux Girl Giving
Erin Rogers of Hive Fund for Climate and Gender Justice
Christy Slater of Women's Foundation of the South
Tyeshia Wilson of Philanthropy Together

This session was recorded in May 2024 during the fourth annual We Give Summit.
