Joe Frazier's crusade was about to meet a boiling point, culminating in what may be the most important bout in heavyweight boxing history. George Foreman was in mental ruins, putting on an exhibition that was embarrassing for the time, but would be marveled at in today's world of high-value exhibition and celebrity showcases. Everyone was in action, with some of the new contenders beginning to force their way into the title picture. Ron Lyle and Earnie Shavers put on the precursor to the biggest slugfest in heavyweight history (a bout that determined who would face BIG George Foreman in the next year's "Godzilla vs King Kong" bout). 1975 is excellent and may just be greater than 1974.
