U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday evening he would “absolutely” consider moving 2026 World Cup matches out of cities that he deems unsafe, as he continues his crackdown on immigration and crime.

The massive global sporting event is set to be co-hosted by the U.S., Canada and Mexico from June 11 to June 19.

World Cup matters are overseen by FIFA, which determined the game sites. But Trump has a close working relationship with FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
