Pamlico Sound - In Search of Bull Red Drum - Bucket List Trip - Oriental, North Carolina

The Pamlico Sound is home to the bull red drum. Every fall these giants move into the sound to start spawning. In this video, Brian and his buddy RD Alwaysfishin' head to Oriental, North Carolina to try to catch some Pamlico gold. There are a few different tactics for catching these behemoths and we tried them both. You can fish for them with Blabbermouth popping corks and soft plastics. You can also fish for them with cut mullet. We did a lot of both! Definitely a trip we will be making again in the future!

Get Out Fishing was born out of a long time friendship. Jim and Brian grew up fishing in Tennessee and moved to North Carolina in 1996. North Carolina is a fisherman’s paradise. From central North Carolina where we live, we have access to all kinds of fishing. Saltwater fishing can be done along the coast, and freshwater fishing can be done in various lakes and rivers around the state along with trout fishing in the mountain streams of Western North Carolina. No matter what type of fishing we are doing, we are continually learning and we love to share what we learn about fishing with others. For us, fishing is about community and that is what we hope to create with Get Out Fishing. A community of people who love all types of fishing and who love sharing their passion for fishing with others.
