Have you ever heard of The O2 concert arena in London? Of course you have.

I had no idea it’s also home to a large outlet shopping / entertainment complex all within the same structure.

In this week’s episode of The Retail Nomad, we meet up with good ol Simone Vincenzi to see this hybrid blend of entertainment meeting commerce.

And yes, I learned the hard way — take the Underground Tube, not an Uber. (Pro tip: The Jubilee Line is faster than London traffic.)

What surprised me most wasn’t just the world-class concerts at The O2, (the Doobie Brothers were playing the night I was there) as it was the adjacent Outlet Shopping.

From UK/EU favorites like SuperDry, WH Smith, Hotel Chocolat, and Kurt Geiger to global power players such as Levi’s, Tommy Hilfiger, Skechers, Asics, and Subway — this retail mix blends local charm with international brand equity.

A special shout-out to industry connection Sonia, (from Holland & Barrett), who helped bring me up to speed on this awesome brand. In visiting their store here, I left with 2 bottles of supplements... as travel demands resilience.

This is the kind of retail destination that global retail strategists should be paying close attention to — not just for the outlet model, but for how entertainment, dining, and retail are being seamlessly integrated under one roof.
