How to Port an Intake Manifold Without Cutting or Welding! Today we are porting my Skunk 2 Ultra Street style intake manifold for my Honda B series LS VTEC Turbo Engine. Not many people know how to port an intake manifold, myself included, so today I teamed up with my friend Mark, who has thousands of hours of porting experience, to learn how to port my intake manifold. The goal here is to maximize smooth airflow into the cylinder head. I had no idea where to even begin, but thankfully it was only about 3 or 4 steps. The part that I was unaware of was how long it was going to take. Is this mod going to gain you 50HP? No! But will this mod squeeze a bit more power out of your motor? Yes! When we're pushing our little 4 cylinder engines to the brink of explosion, its's important to squeeze every last bit out of it while running as little boost as possible. Less boost and more power? That is a win in my book. This method will work on any 2 piece intake manifold.
