Description: The Ancestral System of Knowledge of the Arhuaco, Kankuamo, Kogui and Wiwa peoples of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is composed of the sacred mandates that keep the existence of the four peoples in harmony with the physical and spiritual universe. Believed to play a fundamental role in protecting the region’s ecosystem and cultural identity, this ancestral wisdom is transmitted through cultural practice, community activities, the use of the indigenous language and the implementation of the sacred mandates.
