007 QUANTUM OF SOLACE (2008) - "FAMILIAR TASTE OF POISON" by HALESTORM - Alternate Opening Song

In 2021 I rewatched all of the James Bond films leading up the the release of No Time to Die. Afterwards I lamented how Daniel Craig's sequence of five Bond films is easily my favorite in terms of overall film quality, but only Casino Royale's "You Know My Name" and "Skyfall" stood out to me alongside the classic Bond opening songs, with the remaining three Craig-era themes each feeling underwhelming in their own way.

Quantum of Solace is the first direct sequel Bond movie, taking a notable step down in quality from Casino Royale. That starts right from the beginning with "Another Way to Die" by Jack White and Alicia Keys, which makes it the first duet Bond title song. Their combined efforts do the song no favors though, since somehow two considerably talented musicians with a combined 27 Grammys managed to create arguably the most awkwardly executed and least appealing theme of the entire series.

I have thrown together a dozen or so contemporary alternative options. Some are a bit tongue in cheek, some are purely based on "vibes", and there's a couple that potentially could have become classics in another timeline. With this particular song, I get some major classic Bond theme vibes from the lyrics and musical arrangements, similar to my previous No Time to Die/The Pretty Reckless mashup.
