First Solo Backcountry Trip Part 3: The Hike In & First Day @ Lake Superior Provincial Park, Ontario

From where I parked and left the car, it was a pretty short and easy hike in from the Barrett River access point. There are 4 sites in this zone and once you book, it's first come first served so I took the first site I found which also happened to be the one with the bear bin thankfully so I unloaded, set up camp and enjoyed the sky, the wind, waves and the sunset. It was a bit cloudy but the sunset was still incredible! I really had no idea where I would have done a bear hang because of how dense the trees were so I am very grateful for the bear bin which is meant to be shared by all 4 sites which is great!

I was in my tent around 9:30pm as I was wiped from the long journey and the fresh air and ready to get a good night's sleep! The reason I chose these dates (August 11th to 14th) was because of the Perseid Meteor shower but unfortunately because of the clouds, I didn't see any when I set my alarm for midnight to wake up to check out the sky. That would have been an added bonus of the trip, but nonetheless, so happy to be back up here!
