thinkALS – A user friendly and comprehensive ALS diagnosis and referral tool

Описание к видео thinkALS – A user friendly and comprehensive ALS diagnosis and referral tool

Speaker: Jill Yersak

In the U.S, the average time to ALS diagnosis is 11.5 - 15 months from symptom onset with an ALS patient seeing an average of 3-4 medical providers including general neurologists prior to ALS neurologist evaluation and diagnosis. Reducing time to initial ALS neurologist consultation will greatly reduce diagnostic timelines and is a key area for improvement. The goal of the thinkALS early diagnosis tool is to increase ALS education and awareness among general neurologists and allied health professionals in the U.S. We aim to promote early ALS suspicion and improve efficiency of early referrals to ALS multidisciplinary clinics for diagnosis confirmation and treatment initiation.
